Tabby's Mini Garden!
Check out the mini garden that Mom and I made on Saturday. This is mom resting, we did not do any "Tommy" or "Jason" measuring we just used the bricks to guide our shoveling. Once we finished I planted some banana pepper plants. Later, I will plant some of my herbs that I am growing inside, Cilantro, Parsley and Chives. I also want to plant some tomatoes, so I will keep you all posted. Until then, love you all!

Baton Rouge Weekend
Hey, Hey, it's been a while since I posted a blog, it's about time! Hope everyone is doing well! Just wanted to post some of these pics from my weekend in Baton Rouge, they are from my phone, so they are not the best quality. Jason flew into New Orleans and I was in Baton Rouge for DAC, the boys were going to stay in Baton Rouge, so stayed. These pics are from our trip to USS KIDD, I remembering going to this when I was a kid, but did not really remember anything from it! It was attacked April 1945 and I believe 38 was killed on the ship. Here are some pics. Of course the 1st one is Jason and Myself being silly! Hope everyone had a great weekend, love you all and will be blogging soon!

It's been a while!
Just wanted to send out a blog letting everyone know, I'm still alive, I know I have not written in a while. I have been very busy, and well I don't have internet at the house anymore, so all the internet stuff must be done at work, and when it's time to go home, I'm ready to just go home!! Below, I posted a pic of my new hair cut, I decided I needed some bangs, and I kind of like them. Also, you will notice, below, there are some pics of me during the holidays, one day Jason and I went on a bike ride. I love riding bikes, that day we rode like 10 miles. I cannot wait until it gets bike season, well a little warmer, that is....
I have just been interpreting, interpreting, interpreting and lots of work. Busy, busy, welcome back to the DAC! Wooohooo! Having lots of fun and loving it all, tired, but loving it! Just thought I would drop a little note and let all you know I love you! Hopefully soon, I will get some of Jason's pics he took while he was in Mexico and I will post them, he also recently flew to SD, California Zoo. So until then. Peace, Love, Chicken Grease. Love you all and God Bless!

Christmas 2008
Christmas in Wellston, Oklahoma! Well, I know it has been a while since I have written! The holidays have kept me very busy and on the go! Christmas in Melder, was great as always! I had a great time with Mom and Dad. Went to Alexandria for some last minute shopping with Mom and to the Deer Camp that night to feast on Bambi Bites (don't you want to know). Jason and I left for Oklahoma from Dallas on Wed Christmas Eve. We had a great time with his family and here are a few pics below from Christmas in Wellston, Oklahoma! You will notice the pics of the pond, the water is very low and the beavers are at it with all their chopping!! Clancey had a great time jumping in the pond and retrieving anything that Jason threw into the pond, small and large (trees) sticks, even though the pond had ice on it, Clancey still fetched! You will also notice one pic where we are dressed up, that is at Jason's company Christmas party in Dallas, just thought I would put that one in the mix! Hope everyone had wonderful holiday memories and Have a Happy New Year. I will be posting more soon. Love you all!

Back to Work!
Hello! I know it has been a while, I have been really busy getting acclimated to my new world. I am back working at the Betty Leonard Phillips Deaf Action Center of Louisiana. I am the Director of Video Remote Interpreting (VRI). I interpret and the rest of day, I promote, meet, present our new service VRI. It's great working again at a job that you love, I once again wake up each morning loving and excited to go to work. I know this is just a stepping stone to many more wonderful opportunities. We are scheduling presentations at governmental estab, colleges and many other places, trying to promote our 24 hrs a day / 7 days a week - Internet interpreting service. Well, I will keep you all posted on all the details. You can visit www.deafactioncenter.org to see what VRI is all about.
I will be coming home this weekend and spending some time with my family for Christmas! Next week, Tues afternoon I will be headed to Dallas, and hopefully Wed, headed to Wellston, OK to visit the Turnbull's for Christmas! If I do not see you, I love you and wish you all a Very Merry Christmas! Lets all remember that if it wasn't for Jesus, we would not be having Christmas. Just a thought as I was putting up my Christmas Tree, I thought to myself wow the Christmas Tree leads to another Tree, the Cross. Ummmmm something to ponder on.
Love you!

Our Trip Cabela's and Job Interviews
Good Sunday Night! I wanted to write you all and let you know about my week. Also, the attached photos are from our trip to Cabela's in Fort Worth and for some of you, this will not excite you at all, however most of my Family members will love it.
The week of interviews went well, the most important one, on Thursday (in Arlington, TX ) was like I said before, just an assessment. I was video taped on some mock calls in which they will evaluate my interpreting expressive/receptive skills and expressive/receptive voicing skills. I was very nervous, scared and well it has been 5 years since I have interpreted with such intensity. I feel I did okay, however still very, very rusty and I need much practice and involvement in interpreting. They will be in contact with me, hopefully soon! I may have a temp job here in Shreveport, but details will follow, later. Well, hopefully I will see some of you for Thanksgiving, I will be coming home this week, Wed. For those, I cannot see, I love you all and wish I could divide myself into small parts and send them to see all of you! Hope you have a great "Happy Thanksgiving" and will be posting soon!!!
Love you--Tabby

Week 4 - Interviews
(jason hates this pic, but I love it)
Good Sunday night! Hope all is well, with you and yours! Just want to keep everyone updated on my job hunting. Well, I have an interview this Wed and Thurs in Arlington, Tx. The one on Thurs, is the one I have been hoping to get a chance at for a long time. It's really just applying for acceptance for a Mentoring program at an Video Relay/Interpreting Call Center. I will be video taped for an assessment, 1 of a 2 part interview. This will be an opportunity for major growth, they will mentor and prepare me for Interpreting Certification. It will be for limited hours during the week, so I will still need a full time job, however this chance will be great! My interpreting skill level is not what it was 4 years ago, however they will get a baseline and hopefully go from there. At least, after this, I will hopefully know which direction to go in.... I may or may not be accepted, but excited that God has opened this door. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."Romans 8:28 I will keep you all posted on the events of this week!
I will leave you with this verse:
"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my Rock and my Salvation; he is myFortress, I will Never be shaken." Psalm 62:1-2

Trouble in Goma!!
Well, that would be Goma, Africa, the Congo. If you all will notice on the right side of my blog, below the archives and above my playlist is a section labeled "Favorite Links", If you click on "David and Amy's Adventure" that will led you to one of Jason's best friend, Amy's Blog. Now, Amy and her husband are both pilots working in Africa. They work for Air Serve, flying for humanitarian missions and relief, I not sure about all the details, but there is war going on and they are in the middle of it all. Check out their adventures and pics, and keep them in your prayers. Amy is the manager over their crew and her husband flys a lot. Amy and Jason went to school together in Oklahoma, college and both live in Dallas. Check out their Adventures!!!
Love you all,
