Our Trip Cabela's and Job Interviews

Good Sunday Night! I wanted to write you all and let you know about my week. Also, the attached photos are from our trip to Cabela's in Fort Worth and for some of you, this will not excite you at all, however most of my Family members will love it.

The week of interviews went well, the most important one, on Thursday (in Arlington, TX ) was like I said before, just an assessment. I was video taped on some mock calls in which they will evaluate my interpreting expressive/receptive skills and expressive/receptive voicing skills. I was very nervous, scared and well it has been 5 years since I have interpreted with such intensity. I feel I did okay, however still very, very rusty and I need much practice and involvement in interpreting. They will be in contact with me, hopefully soon! I may have a temp job here in Shreveport, but details will follow, later. Well, hopefully I will see some of you for Thanksgiving, I will be coming home this week, Wed. For those, I cannot see, I love you all and wish I could divide myself into small parts and send them to see all of you! Hope you have a great "Happy Thanksgiving" and will be posting soon!!!

Love you--Tabby

Week 4 - Interviews

Jason and Tabby at Texas State Fair

(jason hates this pic, but I love it)

Good Sunday night! Hope all is well, with you and yours! Just want to keep everyone updated on my job hunting. Well, I have an interview this Wed and Thurs in Arlington, Tx. The one on Thurs, is the one I have been hoping to get a chance at for a long time. It's really just applying for acceptance for a Mentoring program at an Video Relay/Interpreting Call Center. I will be video taped for an assessment, 1 of a 2 part interview. This will be an opportunity for major growth, they will mentor and prepare me for Interpreting Certification. It will be for limited hours during the week, so I will still need a full time job, however this chance will be great! My interpreting skill level is not what it was 4 years ago, however they will get a baseline and hopefully go from there. At least, after this, I will hopefully know which direction to go in.... I may or may not be accepted, but excited that God has opened this door. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."Romans 8:28 I will keep you all posted on the events of this week!

I will leave you with this verse:

"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my Rock and my Salvation; he is myFortress, I will Never be shaken." Psalm 62:1-2

Trouble in Goma!!

Well, that would be Goma, Africa, the Congo. If you all will notice on the right side of my blog, below the archives and above my playlist is a section labeled "Favorite Links", If you click on "David and Amy's Adventure" that will led you to one of Jason's best friend, Amy's Blog. Now, Amy and her husband are both pilots working in Africa. They work for Air Serve, flying for humanitarian missions and relief, I not sure about all the details, but there is war going on and they are in the middle of it all. Check out their adventures and pics, and keep them in your prayers. Amy is the manager over their crew and her husband flys a lot. Amy and Jason went to school together in Oklahoma, college and both live in Dallas. Check out their Adventures!!!

Love you all,

Tabby

Interviews

Just wanted to keep everyone posted. I am still jobless, however hopefully I will have a interview this week in Shreveport and I will have a interview in Arlington, TX next week. So, we will see what happens. God knows what will happen and that's all that I know!!

Jason is in San Antonio,TX in flight school. He has already been there a week and is going on his second week. The first week was a lot of gruelling lectures all day long, and started in the simulator last week. This week is classroom and simulator. Jason and Brent are both tired and their brains are mush. I know they both will be glad when it's over. They are training for the Citation III (I believe that's the right one).

I will keep you all posted. Love you!!

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." Isaiah 43:2

Change

Hello Everyone, I know it has been a while. Well most of you know, I no longer work at Horseshoe, me and about 15 others. So, this past week I have just been sending out resumes and emails and just kind of soaking it all in. I have been praying for an opportunity come a long for a new job or open door. Well, here we go, I wanted to have a job first, before moving on, however, God didn't want it to go down like that. So, now I have been living everyday one step at a time, trusting that he is in control and that "God is always on time"! I will be sending you all my new cell number. The old number that most of you have, 318.218.8850, no longer works. Well it works, but I'm not the one answering it!!!!! So, I will be writing you guys back soon! Love you all! I will keep you all posted!!!

Love,
